A. Pennies from Heaven: thank-you notes sent; priorities for spending our grant money?

B. New England Power Company Archaeological Survey: A long transmission line that covers four states is being studied to find archaeological places that may be eligible for National

Register of Historic Places and that might be affected by the project’s line repair activities “in compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, as amended.”

The line crosses Main Road near the bottom of the hill just ahead of West Gill Road.

This may be very close to the boundary of the Archaeological District in Gill. I need to respond if we want to ask questions or participate in a site visit by Nov. 13.

The detailed report contains a description of Gill from the 1500s to close to the present. Copies can be made for those interested.

C. Acquisitions

1. Book of copies of old maps of Gill, donated by the family estate of Fred Chase.

2. Book of photos of Gill, “Here.” Donated four copies, written and distributed by Liz Gardner

to GHC at the Harvest Fair.

D. Delicate documents, how to handle? Inquiry beginning at Historic Deerfield. (Kit)
